She has a calm, patient manner and a non-judgemental approach, which encourages open communication. Emma works integratively with clients, tailoring her counselling techniques to support the individual needs of the client. Emma uses the humanistic approach to provide transparency, unconditional positive regard and empathy. She uses the psychodynamic approach to explore the impact of past experiences and relationships on her client’s current thoughts and emotions. By exploring these underlying dynamics, she helps clients to identify recurring patterns and build greater self awareness.
Emma, with her background in marketing, discovered a passion for understanding human behaviour and emotions. Her curiosity led her to explore counselling as a way to connect with people on a deeper level. Her decision to pursue counselling was fueled by a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives and help others navigate life’s challenges. Emma enrolled in counselling courses, where she developed her communication skills, learned therapeutic techniques, and deepened her understanding of mental health.
Emma is currently working towards a Level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling with the CPCAB. Emma is an integrative counsellor and is a registered student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Lambeth counselling service.
