Keely Tarrant
Keely Tarrant will demonstrate empathy and compassion when working with her clients as she wants to create a supportive space which will allow the client to feel as if they are truly held and understood. She will focus on the here and now and will support her clients with whatever they bring into the session, and if relevant and in the best interest of the client, she may help the client to explore past experiences that may be having an affect on them in the present.
Previous to working as a counsellor, Keely worked in Lambeth as a domestic abuse caseworker where she provided practical and emotional support for survivors of domestic abuse. She has experience of supporting clients through police proceedings, housing issues, safeguarding reports with social services, and applying for court orders. Keely also provided specialist training in domestic abuse for GP practices in Lambeth and acted as the main point of call for GP’s in Lambeth who had patients needing support. Keely also worked on the National Domestic Abuse Helpline for 2 years during lockdown so has a special interest in working with survivors of abuse. Keely holds a masters degree in gender & sexuality and has a keen interest in working with clients who may be struggling with issues surrounding sexuality or intimacy.
Keely is currently working towards a level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling. Keely is an integrative counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS service in Wandsworth.
