Natalia believes that an empathic facilitative relationship with the client is the primary vehicle of therapeutic change, therefore her initial aim within counselling is to establish a relationship founded on respect, positive acceptance and authenticity. Natalia aims to provide a safe, contained and non-judgemental setting in which clients can share and explore their dilemmas and needs. Natalia looks to enable the client to identify their own personal resources and solutions to their life challenges.
Natalia places emphasis on the phenomenological moment-to moment exploration of bodily sensations, thoughts and emotions in order to facilitate a holistic integration. This can provide clarity to enhance informed decision-making and increased psychological well-being. Natalia works within the integrative theoretical framework, utilizing the psychodynamic expertise and existential probing applied to person-centred, humanistic foundation.
Natalia has long-term experience in working with adults with mental health difficulties and learning disabilities in mental health. Working in care settings she has learnt the healing effects of non-judgemental acceptance and compassion on the positive development of human potential. She is passionate about working holistically, striving for the body-mind integration; and about embracing the diversity of life paths. She has a special interest in anxiety and depression.
Natalia is currently completing a BSc degree in Integrative Counselling. She is an integrative counsellor and a member of the BACP, currently working within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Counselling Service in Wandsworth.
