As a trainee integrative counsellor Rachael Penaluna-Robertson believes that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations. Rather, each person needs to be considered as a whole and counselling techniques must be tailored to their individual needs and personal circumstances.
Rachael provides a safe, warm, non-judgemental space for her clients and values the client as a unique individual. She believes we all deserve to be happy and enjoys helping clients move forward in their lives.
Before she started her therapy career, Rachael worked in Finance for 10 years. She understands the difficulty of managing stress and deadlines whilst juggling the demands of family and relationship commitments. Feeling unfulfilled in her Finance role, she made the decision to embark on a new journey beginning with a Diploma in Hypnotherapy. Once qualified she began working with clients privately, mostly for anxiety, stress & depression. Upon seeing first hand how much her client’s benefited the short term hypnotherapy, Rachael was keen to expand her helping skills and three years ago, began studying counselling. In her spare time Rachael enjoys spending time with her family, eating out and playing tennis.
Rachael is now a trainee counsellor working towards her Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative). She is a student member of the BACP and currently works as a volunteer placement counsellor at The Awareness Centre’s NHS Counselling Service in Sutton. She also volunteers for Jigsaw4U on their Helping Hands Project which supports individual and family survivors of domestic abuse.
