Riana Porter is a Person-Centred Practitioner working in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. Her qualification is a Higher Professional Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy. She is also an accredited member of the BACP.

Riana offers a confidential, supportive and accepting space where clients can feel free to share their experiences, feelings and be heard for who they are. She seeks to engage with clients within a co-created and supportive therapeutic relationship, facilitating the client’s self-exploration, increased self-awareness and a deeper connection to their resources and true self. Her approach holds you, the client, at the centre of the work. She believes only you truly know what goes on for you and where you want to be. She believes it is the client that holds the key to their personal growth.

With a background in sales, customer care and administration, Riana has experience in workplace, stress and conflict resolution. She understands the pressures people can face so aims to create a safe space to listen and facilitate the client through their growth. Riana appreciates that entering into a counselling relationship can bring up difficult and painful feelings, however she believes ‘the relationship is the therapy’, and that this can be a life changing and enhancing process.
