Robin provides a warm, empathetic, safe space for clients to bring their challenges and difficulties, without fear of judgement.  She believes that at the core of effective therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client, and her collaborative attitude allows her clients to feel valued for what they bring to the session, and, crucially, to feel listened to. Robin employs a number of different approaches to therapy, depending on the needs and goals of the client. She may start with a Person-Centred approach, which allows exploration of what is happening for the client in the present, move on to Transactional Analysis as a method of examining past relationships and how they influence current behaviours, or choose to utilise some of the more practical applications of Solution Focussed therapy. In every encounter Robin is mindful to tailor her approach to the individual client, and firmly believes that therapy can be a tool not just to process painful thoughts and feelings but an instrument of growth and the realisation of potential.

Robin’s background in radio production and media training means she attuned her ears to close listening very early in her professional life. Her work as a coach for a parenting skills programme exposed her to people from all walks of life and enriched her understanding of the challenges that so many people face. She was constantly surprised and humbled by the resourcefulness and generosity the participants brought to the space. Robin has a particular interest in bereavement and loss, and currently works for Cruse Bereavement Support in her spare time.

Robin is a trainee integrative counsellor and a member of the BACP. Robin is also currently in her final year of training for a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. She works within the NHS Wandsworth Counselling service.
