Lisa Guy provides her clients a warm, supportive and non-judgemental therapeutic environment. She works with clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions, enabling them to gain a clearer understanding of their life experience, and to find their way towards a more fulfilling life. She understands that it can be difficult to make sense of life events and changes and believes it is important to offer a trustworthy and confidential space for clients to not only embark on a journey of self-exploration and change, but to also gain a feeling of value and self-worth which is important for self-development and growth.

Working integratively means Lisa draws from several theoretical approaches, and tailors them to the unique needs of her clients. She works with the person centred, humanistic and psychodynamic models, and aims to offer a space which enables her clients to safely explore the issues which they choose to work through, at their own pace.

Lisa worked in IT for 19 years and prior to that worked in Retail and Market Research. She has developed an understanding of the challenges of the work environment and how it can impact the personal areas of an individual’s life, and vice versa. She has an interest in depression and anxiety, stress, workplace and communication issues, self-esteem and self confidence, family and relationship issues, and has gained experience in providing clients with a safe and supportive space to explore these challenges.

By learning and understanding for herself how therapy can bring about helpful and positive change within a person’s life, Lisa developed a passion for Counselling.  Since gaining experiencing by providing mentoring support within IT, and volunteering at Norwood and Brixton Foodbank, she has built upon her desire to work therapeutically with clients from a range of cultural backgrounds and various walks of life.

Lisa is an integrative counsellor who works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham providing face to face, online and telephone counselling. She has a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a Registered Member of BACP, with a goal to work towards accreditation.
