Yuki’s approach to supporting clients is by creating a safe space where hope is on the horizon. Through her training as an integrative therapist, combining psychodynamic and person centred therapy, she helps clients find the root cause of distress, while also working in tandem with the client’s happiness and wellbeing. The quality of the relationship between the counsellor and client is a predictor of success in therapy so Yuki spends time developing a rapport with her client trustworthy, safe and healthy. She will take time helping the client transition into and out of therapy sessions so that the client always feels held.

Yuki was brought up in Japan, has studied in the US before settling in the UK. Her diverse background lends itself to understanding cultural differences among her clients and how it can impact a client’s perception of the world. She has a BA and MSc in Psychology and began working in advertising soon after graduating. She understands the pressures of a professional environment, how complex and stressful work-life balance can be. This lead her to become a certified health coach, a speciality that helps clients take actionable steps towards a happier and healthier life.  With this background, Yuki is combines the therapeutic approach with health and wellbeing to provide a holistic path towards healing.

Yuki is studying as an integrative counsellor and is registered at the BACP. She works at The Awareness Centre for NHS Lambeth. Yuki is currently working towards her Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
