Inma Otal provides a safe space where clients can explore their concerns. She is warm and sensitive to people who may have complex needs and works with a confidential and non-judgmental approach. She believes that we all have the potential to overcome the many challenges that life presents to us. Imna works alongside individuals to facilitate the optimum therapeutic relationship for self-discovery and growth. Inma respects and values the uniqueness of each person’s experience and identity. She works from an integrative approach which combines elements from various theoretical models such as Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, to fit the individuals need at every given time.
Inma has a background in art and has an interest in using it as a creative transformative tool. She has been working over the last twenty years at the South London and Maudsley using art to empower individuals in various ways. In this she has supported individuals in gaining self-confidence, thus improving their self-esteem, as well as facilitating internal and external exercises, which support the exploration in accessing their internal resources that support recovery. Inma is sensitive to the struggles that individuals are experiencing, such as mental health and addictions; and understands how this can impact their world. She also practices and facilitates sessions in mindfulness.
Inma is currently working towards a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a member of the BACP. She works within the Awareness Centres NHS Wandsworth counselling service.
