Lauren Evans is currently training as an integrative counsellor. She believes that no two people experience the world in the same way, and tailors her practice to meet the needs of clients from all walks of life. The therapeutic modalities she draws on include Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Existentialism. Lauren’s intention is to build a meaningful, authentic, and trusting relationship that sets the foundation for positive changes, fresh insights and making sense of your inner world.
She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for her clients and to give them the freedom to be themselves without judgement. On the journey of self-exploration, she empowers her clients to utilise their own inner resources and to find the answers they seek from within. Her belief is that we cannot always choose or control our experiences in life, but we have the power to change how we view them, how we view ourselves and how we view the world.
Prior to entering her counselling journey, Lauren travelled independently across South East Asia and worked abroad in Australia for several years. This gave her an insight into the lives of those from vastly different backgrounds and was able to appreciate and empathise with their unique situations.
During her time in Cambodia Lauren worked as an English Teacher for young, vulnerable children and understands the impacts of early life experiences and how they shape our self-concept. Lauren also has experience working in corporate vocations and understands the implications of workplace stress and anxiety on relationships, health, and well-being.
Lauren is currently completing her BSc (Hons) degree in Counselling and is a student member of the BACP. She also holds a Certificate in Counselling awarded by the National Counselling Society. Lauren works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham.
