TAC Opens Low-Cost Psychosexual & Relationship Counselling Service
The Awareness Centre has opened a low-cost psychosexual & relationship counselling service at its Clapham SW4 and Tooting SW17 centres – making therapy more accessible to people who would like to explore their issues relating to sex, intimacy and relationships, whether they’re currently in a relationship or not.
Psychosexual & relationship therapy is a specialist form of counselling that focuses on sex, sexuality and human relationships. Sex & relationship therapists work with the physical and psychological issues impacting on sex, intimacy and relationships. Many sexual difficulties can have their roots in psychological areas: mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and even grief can have an effect on sexual function.
It can feel awkward and embarrassing acknowledging that you have sexual difficulties, and it can take courage to bring them to counselling. However, all our therapists are experienced and knowledgeable in this field and can help to reduce any anxiety you have around speaking about your sexual issues.
You can attend sessions on your own or with your partner to work through the issues you’re experiencing to help you identify ways to have more satisfying sex and to strengthen your intimate relationships.
Some of the conditions our therapists work with in the sex & relationship service include:
erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, vaginismus (where the vaginal muscles tighten involuntarily when there’s an attempt at penetration), sex addiction, painful sex, difficulty achieving orgasm, loss of libido, or a lack of intimacy in your relationship.
Sessions through the low-cost psychosexual & relationship service are offered by therapists who are completing their training in psychosexual & relationship therapy. The fee is £50 is for people on a low income.
For more information and to book an initial session with one of our psychosexual & relationship therapists, email info@theawarenesscentre.com or call 020 8673 4545.
